Startup House Riga Welcomes New CEO and Secures Riga City Support
Kristians Jenčius, CEO of Startup House Riga

Startup House Riga, the epicenter of the startup community, has secured funding from the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency (RITA) through their new investment support program, "Startup Houses Support Program", aimed at fostering innovation, startups, and technological development in Riga. This support marks a new chapter in the development of Startup House Riga as the epicenter of the startup community in Latvia, led by its new CEO, Kristians Jenčiuss.

RITA’s planned co-financing for Startup House Riga over the next three years will support startups and provide them with opportunities to acquire new knowledge, participate in various networking events, and meet with various mentors.

“We are very pleased that the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency has recognized the foundation TechHub Riga's many years of investment in the development of the startup ecosystem and has decided to support our new home, Startup House Riga. Currently, we are already bringing together the best Latvian startup talents, along with venture capital funds and ecosystem participants. Most of the support provided will be given directly to the startups themselves, thereby promoting their ability to develop their businesses. The support will help Startup House Riga grow larger and build up the "muscles" for even larger projects, ensuring that even more new and successful companies will be born in Latvia and Riga,” says Andris K. Bērziņš, Chairman of the Board of TechHub Riga and co-founder of Startup House Riga.

Startups will be able to receive this support by becoming members of Startup House Riga. The implementation of the support program and the further development of Startup House Riga will be led by the new CEO, Kristians Jenčiuss. Kristians has experience in founding startups and raising funds. He has also worked in the hospitality and finance sectors and is an excellent fit for leading the startup community.

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to Egita Poļanska for her outstanding work in successfully launching Startup House Riga! As Egita moves on to new adventures, I am really happy to welcome Kristans to the team! I am really excited to see what the future holds under his leadership,” says James Berdigans, founder of Startup House Riga.

“I am thrilled to join the Startup House Riga team as CEO. After gaining experience in the hospitality, finance, and IT sectors, as well as co-founding the startup Swotzy, I am confident that my energy and knowledge will be a real contribution to Startup House Riga members. I am here to take care of startups - both here on-site and outside the walls of Startup House Riga. Together with Andris, James, and the entire team, I am ready to grow our strength and reach new heights together,” says Kristians Jenčiuss, the new CEO of Startup House.
